SU JOK

Su Jok Therapy is a new exciting treatment method and good news to the number of people, who suffer from pain or diseases.

We live in a stressful time and modern society has become very passive regarding our health, food and nutrition. When we are injured or sick, we mostly turn to others for treatment. This passivity overloads the health system and deprives us the control of our life. Through Su Jok Therapy Professor Park, Jae Woo, from South Korea, has given us the possibility to learn how to treat ourselves.

A lot of people suffers from pain caused by disease, incorrect or lack of exercise, even just plain negligence of our bodies. This pain can be treated faster and easier than most of us are aware of. And very important: Without using medication which often has adverse effects.

The method is based on a system that is more than three thousand years old and is called Su Jok Therapy. It has spread widely in recent years throughout the western countries; in Russia and India more than 40.000 doctors use this therapy. A lot of alternative therapists, including some in Scandinavia have now begun working with this amazing therapy.

Su Jok has been developed from many traditional Eastern therapies and cultures, including Acupuncture, Chinese and Indian medicine. It combines this with up to date Western understanding of body functions and treatment. Su Jok is also safe and has no adverse side effects with its use.

Simple treatment can be performed by the use of special probes, tiny metal stars, magnets, seeds from plants and needles. Or just simply a finger ! Once the corresponding centre of pain has been located on either the hands or feet, this centre is gently stimulated until the pain is reduced or disappears completely. When this occurs the affected region will also be free of pain. The patient can now continue the treatment safely at home.

The pain relief lasts from a few hours up to several days or even for good – depending on the cause of pain. By influencing these centres in the hands and feet, the body itself will urge the healing process. Quite the opposite of conventional treatment where the body is chemically affected and consequently the body’s natural healing process is not working, as it should.

If you look at the hand, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the structure of the body. Take first the thumb; it has 2 phalanges which represent the head and neck. If the thumb had been placed at the centre of the wrist, it would be blatantly obvious that the hand is unmistakably an exact replica of the body etc…

Based on this resemblance, we are able to continue through the body, with exact mirror images of all organs, body systems and appendages mapped onto hands and feet.

One of the advantages of this method is the possible accuracy in finding the central cause of a problem enabling a more precise treatment to take place with almost immediate effect being felt in many cases even with very chronic long-term problems. Further to this it is a very safe and relatively painless method of treatment for many ailments.

Accurate identification of the point to be treated is only part of a successful treatment. For the treatment to be effective, one must stimulate the point correctly. This is achieved in different ways:

Massage with a metallic probe
Warming of the point with Moxa (or a Moxa cigar)
Warming through massage with special massage rings
Use of seeds to keep pressure on the points for long term chronic problems.
