Our Philosophy
The philosophy of Kikodo is to promote and teach the idea that through raising awareness and training; anyone can nurture and strengthen their own personal “Ki”, the life force at the heart of one’s healing system.
The body is the most amazing self-reliant piece of machinery when it is looked after properly through a healthy lifestyle which goes beyond nutrition and exercise.
A strong body leads to a strong mind and better decision-making ability all around.
All our therapists are trained martial artists and thus have already started this long journey. They show empathy but also serve as a guide for our clients to reclaim their health and maintain and nurture their bodies through education and self help.
Kikodo’s goal is to through its Clinic treat people locally, promote martial arts and teach to those interested to improve through self help.
Perceptions of complementary medicine are changing and indulgence in therapies has moved away from the traditional stereotype of ageing hippies to include a broader range of clients. Although today a greater portion of women are still more inclined to use complementary treatments than men, the unique profile of our therapists, combined with the fact that the clinic is centrally within a sport centre will local appeal to the masculine section too.
Our therapists are experienced and sports men and women.
Through their link to martial art, they have approached and discovered many different therapies and look at the body as a whole
Through their training they have suffered many sports injuries and can offer not only empathy to their clients but also pragmatic advice which will be practical and sustainable
Through their teaching, they allow their clients to understand their body better and empower them to sustain a new state of health
Full background of each therapist is provided under the THERAPIST section of this website.
